During this session, we will walk through activities that will help, in a brave and supportive way, expand your knowledge base, and lexicon around diversity, equity, and justice. We will also use this time to practice how your staff will respond to inequitable concerns with the community.
BIPOC teacher shortage.
Teachers of Color in the state of Tennessee comprise only 13% of the overall teacher workforce*. As Tennessee's student body becomes increasingly diverse, recruiting and retaining teachers of color as well as providing cultural content is paramount. Participants will engage in an action lab, an interactive session that will allow community voices to shape education priorities among Black and Brown students.
