Leading Through Bias with Courage and Clarity
Every leader has blind spots — the most effective ones know how to recognize and address them.

In this session, we go beyond simply “naming bias” to equipping mid-career leaders with the tools, language, and confidence to respond decisively when inequities arise. Through scenario-based exercises and real-world case studies, participants practice applying core leadership competencies — such as emotional regulation, empathy in action, and systems thinking — to navigate complex, high-pressure situations with fairness and strategic clarity.

Building Diverse and Inclusive Leadership Pipelines
Representation matters — at every level of leadership. While Tennessee’s teacher workforce is only 13% teachers of color, the lesson extends far beyond education: organizations thrive when leadership reflects the communities they serve.

This interactive “Action Lab” engages participants in designing strategies for recruiting, retaining, and developing diverse talent while strengthening organizational culture. Leaders leave with actionable plans that integrate authentic leadership, cultural awareness, and strategic innovation to build teams that are prepared — and empowered — to meet future challenges.
